The Lighthouse
End Credits

Motion Design

Animation

Illustration

A reimagining of The Lighthouse end credits, featuring animation and a new typeface. The song featured "Doodle Let Me Go (Yaller Girls)", by A.L. Lloyd, is the same song originally used in The Lighthouse end credits. Created with After Effects, Blender, and Procreate Dreams.

Style Frames

The high contrast style is as a continuation of the film's black and white color scheme. The stylized version of Willem Dafoe's head acts as a light at the top of the light house, revealing a new name with every rotation. When the light covers Dafoe's face, an inverted version appears to keep the animation clear to the audience while contributing to the eerie feeling of the story.

Frame by Frame Breakdown

The head rotation animation was created by rotoscoping over an animated 3D model by Arne. The rotoscoping was done entirely by hand in Procreate Dreams.
